1. FEATURE: The Secret to Resilience

“Life is difficult.”

That’s the opening paragraph in the book “The Road Less Travelled” by M. Scott Peck. The second paragraph starts:

“This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly
see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult - once we truly
understand and accept it - then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted,
the fact that life is difficult no longer matters."

Yet even if this fact no longer matters, it is still a fact- that life can be very difficult at
times. One resource that is most useful to us is our ability to be resilient, our ability to
bounce back after a difficult patch and keep living our life to the full. And a great thing
about resilience is that it can be developed and cultivated.

One of the key aspects of resilience is ego-strength, which is our ability to face reality
as it is. This is when we can accept what is- just accept that ... CLICK HERE FOR FULL ARTICLE

2. GUEST ARTICLE: Stress and Social Status

Inner Coaching is working with the Energy modality of BodyTalk to get results that are
more sustainable and impact more areas of clients' lives. You can read more about this
and why we use BodyTalk.

Andrea Carter, a CBI & MindScape Instructor from Calgary, Canada talks about how our
social status is connected to stress levels. Mindscape is a course that is part of the
BodyTalk System, and is a compilation of meditation, martial arts theory and psychology.

Stress and Social Status: The connection is astounding!

It is a known fact that animals in the wild use hormones called adrenaline and glucocorticoids in order to survive. Humans also have these same hormones, although usually not in as high a dosage because we don’t live in the wild…or do we?

Current research is finding that humans now appear to have the same level of these
hormones circulating through their systems, (the same amounts as animals do when
attacking or fleeing from being attacked), on a regular basis. When these hormones are this
high within a human’s body, they will shut down all other systems (particularly the immune system, reproductive system, and digestive system), allowing the body to become
vulnerable to illness and disease.

Studies began over 22 years ago with Dr. Robert Salpolsky from Stanford University. It began
with the interest in social behavior of baboons, and what was found was that...CLICK HERE FOR FULL ARTICLE

3. Communication Skills Training

How useful would it be to:

  • communicate with precision and accuracy?
  • figure out people & how to get your message across to them?
  • be able to get into rapport very quickly with another person or group?
  • not let your emotional states affect your ability to communicate?
  • change the way you talk to yourself?
  • develop your management or interpersonal skills of giving feedback, handling criticism and listening?

The Communication Excellence Training is designed to work on both your inner and outer communication games:

The outer communication game is where we talk about the actual performance of communicating—what you say, the application of your listening and questioning skills and talents, the identification of the skills needed in a particular aspect of communication, and the application of your skills of giving feedback, rapport building and being present to another to really listen to them.

The inner game is the internal game you play in your mind and emotions so that you can be at your best when talking to or listening to another. It’s your inner game of frames—the frames of mind that make up your attitude and habitual ways of thinking towards yourself as the talker, and yourself as the receiver of the communication of others.

Develop your communication skills by learning a cutting edge model about the essential dynamics of communication in this 3 day course starting next week, 28th March.

“This course is excellent ad give us detail insight on communication. It should be included when studying communication in Business Management Courses at University level. ” – Sundra Moonsamy, October 2008

4. The Personal Expression

I’m amazed that it is nearly the end of March already! Time is going by so fast! In all the quickness of life, I have made another trade on my matchstick journey, and am now accepting offers for my latest item to trade on, being a party for 150 people with DJ Al. I've had no offers yet, hence need some resilience!

I presented a training called Accessing Personal Power and found out afterwards that it was the first time in the world Neuro-semantics has been presented in this exciting one day format!

I’ve planned a diving holiday for the end of May, which means I need to up my diving skills so I’ll be doing my advanced divers qualification soon.

I’ve also launched a new Transformational Programme and gave a talk on ‘State Management’ to a group of up and coming young executives, who excited me with their enthusiasm for South Africa and making a difference in our country.

And I took part in a networking event on Twitter, in which I got some great marketing tips from experts all over the world, learnt a lot about twitter and had fun!

Smiles,
Telana
