About Richard Nilsson

Richard is a seasoned serial entrepreneur and industry expert with a strong foothold in the Technology, Companion Animal (Pet), Media, and Lifestyle sectors. He boasts a track record spanning more than two decades, with a fifteen-year stint in the dynamic Asian market.

In his entrepreneurial journey, Richard has worn multiple hats, including that of an entrepreneur, intrapreneur, and corporate business leader. He has demonstrated his versatility by taking on diverse roles, such as marketing, editorial and content production, sales and business development, management and leadership, and strategic innovation. His repertoire also extends to successfully launching multiple startups, engaging in fundraising activities, and participating in mergers and acquisitions.

Currently, Richard assumes the role of CEO and Founder at MyPetGo, a pioneering venture focused on creating a health, wellness, and longevity monitoring system for dogs. This innovative platform leverages decision intelligence powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to offer users data-driven recommendations for their pets. Furthermore, it establishes a bridge to a marketplace featuring locally relevant service providers.

Before MyPetGo, Richard laid the foundation for Rhino Ventures Asia, an entity dedicated to constructing a brighter future by conceptualizing, investing in, building, and managing technology ventures. These ventures are designed to address various challenges through innovative technological solutions, impacting the well-being of individuals, animals, and the planet. Notably, MyPetGo emerged as a spin-off from Rhino Ventures Asia.

Richard’s illustrious career also includes the co-founding of Lifestyle Asia in 2006, a pioneering venture that addressed a gap in the luxury and lifestyle publishing sphere across Asia. This groundbreaking platform came into existence before the proliferation of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as the ubiquity of smartphones and user-friendly digital publishing tools we now take for granted. The success story of Lifestyle Asia began in Hong Kong and expanded to include Singapore in 2008, Thailand in 2009, Malaysia in 2012, India in 2018, and a Paris edition in 2019.

One of Richard’s major achievements was overseeing the sale of Lifestyle Asia to the global media and technology conglomerate, Hubert Burda Media in December 2016.

Another significant contribution to Richard’s career is his co-founding of TradeIt, a pioneering bilingual marketplace and market leading in the Canton region.
