Dr Chomba Chuma shares his ideas around celebrating entrepreneurs and how this will grow more businesses (and through that, more job opportunities). About Dr. Chomba Chuma

Dr. Chomba Chuma is a Medical Doctor & Entrepreneur, who has been involved in pharmaceutical, manufacturing and industrialization projects for over the last 20 years.

He started as medical advisor at Roche Pharma looking after Virology and Oncology portfolio in Sub-Saharan Africa and later as Regional Country Manager for Southern Africa (SADC) countries.

He later moved to Sanofi Aventis, South Africa to manage their largest specialist brand as a national sales manager.
After leaving the corporate environment, he started Lighthouse Healthcare which later formed a joint venture to launch Vitabiotics South Africa – A subsidiary of Vitabiotics UK.

Thereafter, Lighthouse progressed to develop Velobiotics brand of probiotics through a commercialization agreement with CSIR. The specialized probiotics delivery technology is patented globally with Velobiotics taking exclusive licenses for United States, UK, Japan and Australia.

Dr. Chuma is passionate about developing sustainable African businesses that address the chronic unemployment dilemma. He has been featured in numerous presentations and panel discussions in South Africa and overseas.
